License

Setsumei is licensed, not sold. Your license to use the app is subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the applicable App Store terms. You may use Setsumei only on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as those terms permit.

Educational purpose

Setsumei is a language-learning aid. Grammar detection, readings, JLPT estimates, translations, explanations, and examples may be incomplete or incorrect. JLPT levels are estimates and are not official classifications. Do not rely on Setsumei as the sole authority for academic, professional, legal, medical, safety-critical, or other consequential decisions.

Your content and acceptable use

You are responsible for text you enter, paste, save, or share through Setsumei and for ensuring that you have the right to use it. Setsumei does not claim ownership of that content.

You may not misuse the app or website, interfere with their operation, use them unlawfully, or reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Third-party services and content

Translation uses Apple’s Translation framework. Setsumei also includes or links to third-party software, sentence data, source material, and websites. Their own licenses, terms, and privacy policies may apply. Setsumei is not responsible for third-party services or websites.

Intellectual property

Except for third-party material identified in the app, Setsumei, its design, software, branding, and original content are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant permission to copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit them beyond ordinary use of the app.

Availability and changes

Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued. Access to translation can depend on device support and Apple language-pack availability. No guarantee is made that Setsumei will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or operating-system version.

Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Setsumei is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, learning progress, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use Setsumei. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated to reflect changes to Setsumei or legal requirements. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
